What's new¶
What's changed in Carers Portal, newest first.
v2.10.0 — Several workers at one appointment (October 2026)¶
Appointments can now have more than one attending worker.
- Several attending workers. When you add or change an appointment, or a repeating appointment, tick every worker who attends, or none. Each attending worker sees the appointment in My shifts.
- The admin note. Every attending worker can see an appointment's admin note, along with administrators.
- Suspending a member. Making a member inactive takes them off future appointments and off the default workers of repeating appointments. You see which before you confirm. Appointments that have started or are in the past keep them.
- Double-booking warning. If a worker you choose already attends an overlapping appointment, you see a warning. It never stops you saving.
- Still no email. Appointments do not send emails, and they do not appear in the personal calendar feed.
v2.9.1 (October 2026)¶
- Fluid totals when the PEG feed chart is off. If your organisation switches the PEG feed chart off, the fluid report, the Overview and the printed evidence summary now show oral fluid only. PEG water no longer appears and does not count towards the daily total. Your PEG entries are kept, and switching the chart back on counts them again.
v2.9.0 — PEG Feed in Analytics (October 2026)¶
For organisations that have the PEG feed chart switched on.
- PEG Feed page. A new page in Analytics shows daily formula and water totals, the days with nothing recorded, and which formulas were given.
- Formula target. Administrators can set an optional daily formula target in Admin → Organisation, beside the PEG feed switch. The PEG Feed chart shows it as a line.
- PEG water counts towards fluids. The fluid report and the printed evidence summary now add water flushes and water given with medication to the drinks recorded in shift notes. A participant fed by PEG no longer shows as below their fluid target when they are not.
- Appetite card. For a participant fed by PEG who has no appetite ratings, Nutrition & fluids now says Not applicable: nutrition by PEG and links to the PEG Feed page.
v2.8.2 — Our Story (October 2026)¶
- Our Story. A new page explains why Carers Portal was built. It has a button to start your free trial and shows current pricing.
v2.8.1 (October 2026)¶
- After an update, the portal now loads its latest settings straight away. Previously a browser could keep old settings, so pricing and sign-in could be missing until you refreshed the page.
v2.8.0 — Roster changes for sickness and hand-overs (October 2026)¶
Changes to a roster when someone is sick, or when a shift changes hands part way through.
- Shifts that have started. A shift is now planned, in progress or finished. If you change the worker on a shift that has already started, you give a reason, which only administrators see.
- Split a shift at a hand-over. Administrators can split a shift in progress at the time of a hand-over. Each part shows who worked it, and the worker who finishes early is emailed.
- Correct a finished shift. Administrators can fix the times or workers on a finished shift, with a reason. The original values stay in the shift's history, and nobody is emailed.
- Urgent emails for live changes. When a swap happens on a shift that is under way, or starts within 24 hours, both workers are emailed with an Urgent subject.
- Call for cover. From the roster toolbar, administrators can email a call for cover of open shifts to chosen members, with an optional message. You see a preview first, and you are asked before the same shift is called twice.
v2.7.0 — Reports, PEG Feed and a new side menu (October 2026)¶
- Side menu. The dashboard has a side menu with grouped sections. On a phone it opens as a drawer. The menu can be collapsed to a row of icons, and each section has its own address, so you can bookmark it or go back to it.
- PEG Feed chart. A chart for PEG feeds in Analytics, which administrators can switch on or off for their organisation. Its icon is now a drip bag.
- Bowel diary switch. Administrators can switch the bowel diary on or off for their organisation. When it is off, the diary is hidden everywhere, and the records you already have are kept.
- Quick-win reports and export. Reports and exports have been expanded.
- Easier navigation. You can switch organisation from your profile menu. The theme toggle is on every screen. Help and What's new are in the side menu.
- Date ranges. One date-range dropdown replaces the row of quick-range buttons.
- Analytics. Summary cards and Key Insights appear on Overview, with clearer labels.
- What's new dot. A dot on What's new shows when there is a new release.
v2.6.0 — Native Roster (October 2026)¶
Carers Portal now has its own roster, so you can plan who is working with the participant, and when, in the same place you keep shift notes.
- Plan the roster on a Week grid. Administrators add one-off and overnight shifts, with one worker or several. The form warns you if a worker is already on a shift that overlaps. Shifts are cancelled rather than deleted, so they stay on the roster, and each shift has a history of what changed and when. See Plan the roster.
- Repeating shifts. Set up a shift that repeats, then choose whether a change applies to one shift or to that shift and all the ones after it. See Repeating shifts and edit scopes.
- Required coverage and open shifts. Set the hours that need cover, and the Week view shows any gaps and any shifts with nobody assigned. See Coverage and open shifts.
- My shifts. Support workers see the shifts they are rostered on, starting from today, and can look further ahead. See My shifts.
- Link a shift note to your shift. When you write a shift note, you can link it to the shift you worked. Administrators get a list of past shifts that are still missing a note. See Link a shift note to your shift.
- Appointments. Add appointments for the participant, one-off or repeating, and show which worker is attending. See Appointments.
- Your shifts in your own calendar. Workers can create a personal calendar link to see their shifts in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Your calendar app checks the link for changes on its own schedule, so updates are not instant, and shift emails stay the alert for a change. See See your shifts in your own calendar.
- Shift emails. If your organisation sends them, support workers get an email when the roster changes for them. The email only gives the roster name, date, time and shift type. It never includes the participant's name or any care notes. See Shift emails.
Also in this release¶
- Clearer messages when something can't be saved, so you know what to fix.
- Signing in now goes through the single Sign in button. Signing in with Google still works: choose Continue with Google on the sign-in screen. See Sign in.
